Nuno Espirito Santo is continuing to build a Nottingham Forest squad that he thinks can compete in both the Europa League and the Premier League.
After landing a European spot last season, Nottingham Forest lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United.
The winger was a key figure for Espirito Santo’s men last term, notching six goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
But Espirito Santo’s best business in the window so far arguably came when Nottingham Forest retained Morgan Gibbs-White despite strong advances from Tottenham.

As the City Ground side continue to bolster their squad, Nottingham Forest have signed Dan Ndoye from Bologna.
The winger’s performances in Serie A suggest that he can adapt to the demands of the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Forest are closing in on Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, who scored 18 goals for the French club last season.

The 23-year-old’s performances in Ligue 1 show that he can rival Chris Wood for a starting spot in Espirito Santo’s lineup and eventually become the long-term replacement for the former Newcastle United man.
Such a development is worrying for Taiwo Awoniyi, who currently serves as Wood’s back-up option, and made 26 Premier League appearances last season.

Nottingham Forest have risen in recent years and established themselves as somewhat of a powerhouse in the Premier League last season.
The City Ground outfit also reached last season’s FA Cup semi-finals, showing that they could win silverware in the years to come if they remain on their current trajectory.
But ambitious owner Evangelos Marinakis will demand even more from Espirito Santo’s men next season, as they look to reach the latter stages of the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Kalimuendo’s clinical form in Ligue 1 last term shows that he should be able to adjust to the Premier League, while also performing in the Europa League.
Now that Forest are competing in Europe, rotation has become more important for Espirito Santo, and Kalimuendo could share attacking responsibilities with Wood.
Furthermore, thanks to his time with Rennes, the 23-year-old has already played in the Europa League, bringing valuable experience to the table.
